G+D Munich, 2020

The headquarters of the security technology group Giesecke + Devrient is located on Prinzregentenstrasse in Munich’s Bogenhausen district. Between 2018 and 2020, considerable renovation and modernizing measures were carried out throughout the building. The former printing facility of Hall Six has been converted into event areas and flexible workspaces. Furthermore, the office area in the production hall above was further expanded. The entire board floor was also completely renovated and rebuilt. The floors involved in the work are the ground floor, the second floor and the seventh floor, totalling 8,800m² GFA.

The Experience Centre was built in the front area on the ground floor. Structurally, this space is clearly separated from the rest of the hall. Here, visitors are presented with products of the respective company divisions. The Workcafé is in the centre of the hall, with a lounge area offering free seating with locked room boxes that can be used for more confidential meetings. The third area in Hall Six is the Townhall, an area equipped with a stage and screen, which is ideal for in-house events. For larger celebrations or events, the Townhall and Workcafé can also be connected.

The existing office space on the second floor will be renovated and expanded during the conversion, which means that the amount of production areas is actually decreasing.

In contrast, high-quality materials and surfaces take on their own character in the Executive Board areas. Different types of wood serve as flooring as well as wall cladding. Various textiles are used for the curtains and furniture upholstery. Brass is used as a surface material for accent in specific places. ABH provided property planning and general planning services.
