AUDI GVZ Bridge Connection, 1996

Ingolstadt

In November 1995, the freight complex was completed south of the Audi plant site.

As a logistics hall network, the internal circulation of the GVZ was to be provided via a bridge that would not interfere with the public road network.

The bridge leads from the GVZ parallel to Furtwänglerstrasse in a northerly direction. Shortly before Ettinger Strasse, a departure ramp is planned as a connection to the west to link up with Halls 5 and 6 at a later date. Up to this point, the bridge is open to the public. The bridge continues via Ettinger Strasse to the Audi AG site, thus enabling an additional connection between the GVZ and the Audi factory halls, again without interfering with public transport routes. The bridge was completely enclosed to provide weather protection and reduce noise.
