AUDI T1

Expansion of the Development Department

This building was constructed for the development departments of AUDI AG, including the pioneering Simultaneous Engineering project, which involves project-based, interdisciplinary collaboration between various engineering disciplines in a shared physical space.

Seven full storeys provide 5,500 m² of floor space for cubicle offices, open-plan offices and a combined office floor. Part of the design concept was to optimise the floor heights in terms of building services, so that one more full storey could be realised than in the neighbouring building.

The necessary thermal relief for the rooms is provided by suspended cooling ceilings in combination with windows that can be opened.
The use of mobile partition walls allows for great flexibility in the office space.

Despite these high technical requirements, the result is a functional, cost-effective building of high value.

The upper end of the stairwell is formed by a glazed lounge area, which is the highest point on the AUDI factory premises and offers a sweeping view of the landscape.

Our contract included general planning services, including structural design, planning of technical equipment, other technical planning and construction management.
